Somehow, someway, the Chicago Red Stars have successfully cleared the minefield that was this past week. With an emphatic 3-0 victory over Sky Blue FC at the weekend, they have taken nine points from their last three matches across seven days. After a very dramatic game against Orlando on Wednesday, the Red Stars eased to a more comfortable victory on this occasion.
Not much happened in the first half-hour. But then the game exploded into life. Sam Kerr cut the ball back to Morgan Brian running into the box. Kailen Sheridan was caught wrong-footed and Brian finished it for the first goal of the game.
