On Thursday, it was announced that the MLS Rookie for the Year would be the Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris after a very successful first professional season. Morris scored 12 goals during the regular season, the most out of any American rookie and only second to Canadian Cyle Larin who won the award last season with Orlando City.
Jordan Morris came in as the highest paid homegrown player in all of MLS history, signing for the Seattle Sounders back in January. Being 21 at the time, Morris wasn’t supposed to be put under the pressure of playing a vital part in the Rave Green’s set up.
