The sports world has been moving and shaking in the City of San Diego following the departure of the Chargers, now known as the Los Angeles Chargers. While Dean Spanos is now persona non grata in these parts, the general public has moved on to the next big thing in San Diego sports: soccer.
The backers of a plan to bring an MLS expansion team to San Diego have been trying to get the city pumped up for a signature gathering campaign to open the door not only for a team, but a dual use soccer and college football stadium on the former Qualcomm Stadium site.
