The New York Red Bulls saw Atlanta United squeeze out a 4-3 win over the San Jose Earthquakes in midweek. If they thought they were going to be given any favours in their quest to haul back the Five Stripes, they were wrong.
That meant that they could not afford to slip up against Toronto FC on Saturday, a team perfectly capable of causing problems and upsetting the apple cart. The Red Bulls didn’t play well, but they did enough to secure the 2-0 victory. At this point in the year, that’s all that matters.
