The Cosmos are alive, but not well as of yet. The last we heard of the 2016 NASL Champions was a couple months ago as sources reported they had released all players, coaches, and had ceased operations. Terrible and unexpected news coming a couple weeks after winning their 3rd championship in four years.
This story seems all too familiar for the Cosmos as they have just been rejuvenated from their historical past. Since 2013, the New York Cosmos have been the most successful club of the NASL’s Modern Era winning championships in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
Under new ownership, the New York Cosmos will be looking to add to their roster as well as their trophy case.
