The MLS Cup Playoffs are far from set and are more than two months away. But this Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Union carries the importance of a playoff game for the New England Revolution.
New England is 0-3-2 in its last five games, blowing late leads in two of those matches. Over the frustrating stretch, the Revs have put in solid performances but have failed to get a good result. In the process, a comfortable hold on fifth place has evaporated, putting the Revs in a must-win position against Philly.
New England has added a couple new faces to the mix since the winless run began, as well as lost a contributor up front.
