Rumors have been flying about the new Canadian Premier League, which has a tentative start date but no confirmed teams. The signing of Paul Beirne as project manager, reported in the Hamilton Spectator this week, has allowed the league to take a major step towards reality.
Beirne has experience on this kind of project. He was the first employee of Toronto FC, and served as TFC’s vice-president of business operations from 2006 until 2013. His hard work on the business side has finally been matched on the field the last two years.
