Two Western playoff contenders faced off against each other on Saturday night as Minnesota United welcomed the Seattle Sounders to the TCF Bank Stadium. It was a riveting affair. Both teams showed their strengths and shortcomings, there were mistakes, controversies, moments of brilliance and awe, a terrific atmosphere, last-gasp drama.
The Sounders eventually snatched the three points away from Minnesota with two stoppage-time goals to overhaul a one-nil deficit, Will Bruin scoring the crucial winner with a lovely, deft lob up and over the goalkeeper.
