Minnesota United hung on for a thrilling 2-1 win over the New England Revolution on Wednesday night. It was a tight and tantalizing affair with some lovely soccer played by both teams.
Goals from Christian Ramirez and Darwin Quintero gave the Loons a two-goal advantage shortly after the break, but as New England pressed for resurrection, a Diego Fagundez penalty in the 52 minute set up an intriguing final half hour. It was, though, Minnesota who were able to stand strong and head home with the three points in their back pockets.
