It was a tale of two halves on Sunday night at the Banc of California Stadium. In the first half, the visiting Portland Timbers were able to match hosts Los Angeles FC in intensity and only trailed by one goal entering half-time.
However, a different storyline unfolded in the second half with LAFC taking complete control en route to 4-1 win. There were a host of goalscorers for LAFC as four different players found the back of the net. Carlos Vela led the way with one goal and two assists.
