We are in the midst of rivalry week. The MLS playoff race is hotting up and some of the best teams in the league are facing one another over the next few days. And on Friday night, we all got a little taste of what a fiery, competitive, bitty local derby can look like as the third instalment of El Trafico played out.
The LA Galaxy hosted crosstown rivals, LAFC, hoping to stem a downward turn of form and results and keep themselves right in the playoff mix in the East. They didn’t get the win that they were hoping for, or perhaps even deserved, but the 1-1 draw was certainly an improvement on recent outings.
