The LA Galaxy had the perfect opportunity to establish themselves in the race for the West. Sitting in fourth position, on the same amount of points as local rivals Los Angeles FC, the Galaxy could put the pressure on their West contenders by winning on Tuesday night before any other team played. They failed.
The lowly Colorado Rapids were welcomed to StubHub Center. The Rapids, who sit above only the San Jose Earthquakes in the West, battled back twice to snatch a 2-2 draw from the clutches of defeat and put a major dent in the playoff hopes of the Galaxy.
