In 2014, For the third time in MLS Cup history, the Los Angeles Galaxy overcame the New England Revolution to win the title. And for a third time, they did so after 120 minutes of football.
They had previously beaten Real Salt Lake, thanks to a 5-0 win at home, and the Seattle Sounders, thanks to away goals, ahead of the 2014 final, but the Revolution posed their biggest challenge in the MLS Cup final. In the end, it was the Galaxy that came out on top, the third time they had done so in four years.
