With nearly half of his 23-player squad 23 years old or younger, there's no shortage of promise on the roster U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann named Wednesday for the senior national team's 2016-opening training camp.
Among those called in by Klinsmann for the first time are defenders Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas) and Eric Miller (Montreal Impact), midfielders Fatai Alashe (San Jose Earthquakes) and Matt Polster (Chicago Fire), and forwards Jerome Kiesewetter (VfB Stuttgart) and Khiry Shelton (New York City FC).
But not all of the program's best blue-chippers will be in attendance when the month-long gathering begins in Carson, Calif.
