In an even match with both goalkeepers consistently tested, especially from set pieces, it took a moment of brilliance to notch the only goal. Paul Arriola collected Wayne Rooney’s pass, darted inside the opposing defender, opening up a yard of space, a curled a beautiful shot into the far corner. That, in the end, was all that D.C. needed.
