Losses have become all too common for the Columbus Crew as of late. The Eastern Conference club fell for the fifth consecutive match as they continue to trend downwards in the table. Their opponents, D.C. United, took advantage of the Crew’s lackluster form to take a 3-1 victory at home.
A trio of DC.C.’s top players were on the scoresheet with Luciano Acosta, Wayne Rooney, and Paul Arriola all finding the back of the net. D.C. were in need of a win themselves after falling to Minnesota United just a week prior.
