DC United ready for double boost to jumpstart their season

DC United has had an up and down season to this point. Sitting in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, the capital club has dealt with injuries and a lack of attacking options. Things may begin a turn for the better as United is set to receive a double boost.

Star net minder Bill Hamid is expected to make his first start of the season against Sporting Kansas City in Friday’s game. The 2014 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year had surgery to his right knee. His recovery forced him to miss United’s first 12 games this season.

While Goaltending has not been a significant issue for United (Travis Worra has been solid for the most part), the insertion of Hamid into the lineup should provide a mental boost.
