In the closing minutes of the match between the NYCFC and Philadelphia Union, David Villa decided to try an ambitious effort to seal the three points for the away side. Just inside the halfway line, Villa saw the Philadelphia Union keeper off of his line, and decided to try an ambitious 50-yard chip shot to seal off the win.
It worked.
50 yards out. FIFTY.
Just a ridiculous goal from @Guaje7Villa https://t.co/YZY6UFo1Lv
While Andre Blake, the Union’s keeper should — and will be — ashamed at letting in this shot go in, take nothing away from the strike.
