Although the match ended in a draw for the Columbus Crew, the home side, hosting a very good New York Red Bulls side, will feel that they deserved a win. Chances were wasted in a situation where the Crew could have moved further up the Eastern Conference table with three points.
Gyasi Zardes had put the Crew up 1-0 in the first half with his 10th goal of the season. But the Red Bulls answered in the 57th minute when Alex Muyl equalized.
Luis Robles then came up big for the away side in the second half, denying chance after chance, to ensure the New York club left Ohio with at least a point.
