The struggling Columbus Crew have bolstered up their defense as they have signed Norwegian center back, Nicolai Naess, from Stabaek. The move was completed and announced on July 21st by the club. Targeted Allocation Money was used to sign and aquire Naess from the top league in Norway.
Naess will occupy an international roster spot as well as a discovery signing for the Crew. He has made 74 appearances in the top flight league in Norway since his debut in 2012. Nicolai has also appeared in two Europa League qualification matches.
The 6’0 defender made his professional debut with Valerenga in Norway in 2012.
