Major League Soccer matches do have a tendency to be a little more unpredictable than their European counterparts, so it is not always that shocking when you scan the results of the weekend and see a few surprising ones jump off the list. But when watching Saturday’s match between the Colorado Rapids and Montreal Impact, even for MLS standards, you could not help but sit back in awe at its unbridled unruliness.
The Rapids won 6-3. There were two own goals, two penalties, a hat-trick, and some of the strangest moments of the whole season, all rolled into a tumultuous 90 minutes of tension, feigned comebacks, and horribly exciting defending.
