Week 3 commenced in sensational fashion on Saturday afternoon as the Seattle Sounders swept past the hapless Chicago Fire with a consummate 4-2 away victory. With goals from Nicolas Lodeiro, Jordan Morris, Victor Rodriguez and Raul Ruidiaz, every one of the dangerous front four of the Sounders notched a strike.
For the Fire, a second-half rally that took advantage of some lapse defending gave brief hope, but thanks to the 10-save performance of Stefan Frei and some dodgy work in both penalty areas, this was never really a contest.
