Chicago Fire Vs San Jose Earthquakes: 3 things we learned – Vital victory

The Chicago Fire needed a win last night. Crucial, then, that they were just about able to get the three points at home against the San Jose Earthquakes. The home side took the lead against the run of play, grabbing the opening goal of the contest off a header from Alan Gordon.

Their advantage was doubled early in the second half, when Aleksandar Katai smashed a shot past the Earthquakes keeper following a peach of a through ball from Brandt Bronico, but San Jose were able to get one back fifteen minutes from time.
