Chicago Fire Vs Montreal Impact: 3 things we learned – Hope

The mini-resurgence of the Chicago Fire continued on Saturday night as they beat the Montreal Impact 3-2 at SeatGeek Stadium. It was a must-win game considering how close the two teams were in the standings, and the result means the Fire are now, somehow, only three points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Chicago opened the scoring through Dax McCarty, who grabbed his first-ever goal for the club after curling a shot into the back of the net. The lead was doubled ten minutes later when Aleksandar Katai set up Nemanja Nikolic for an easy tap in at the far post, who made no mistake with the finish.
