The Chicago Fire have lost a second straight match, this time falling to FC Dallas by a 3-1 scoreline. The usual starting core for the men in red was left in Chicago, as many bench players got a chance to shine ahead of an Open Cup quarterfinal on Wednesday.
The backups were exposed early, conceding in the first half. The Fire put up a good fight to start the second half, but conceded another before giving up a third goal from the spot. Chicago did grab a consolation goal late on, but couldn’t mount a further comeback and had to leave Dallas empty-handed.
