Pity Martinez broke his scoring duck and the burgeoning Atlanta United defence hung on at the other end to hand the Five Stripes their fourth successive victory and move them above the playoff line in the Eastern Conference.
The 1-0 win over Orlando City was certainly not vintage Atlanta. The goal was lovely, but their attacking play was a little static and awkward, as has been the case for much of the season. This was a hard-fought, slightly undeserved victory. But they all count for the same amount of points when all is said and done.
