Atlanta United vs New York Red Bulls: 3 things we learned – Justin Meram on fire

Sunday afternoon saw yet another intense match-up between Atlanta United and the New York Red Bulls. Justin Meram scored his third goal in two matches at Mercedes Benz Stadium while Josef Martinez bagged a brace. For New York, Daniel Royer scored in the first half while Brian White and Bradley Wright-Phillips scored in the second half, the match ending a 3-3 draw.

After a back-and-forth, in-your-face first half, New York came out strong in the second half, scoring in the 60th minute after mostly controlling the pace of the game. Until Martinez’s penalty in the 79th minute, Atlanta looked lost and at New York’s mercy.
