Atlanta United: Analyzing the Brooks Lennon signing

Atlanta United have a new face along the right flank. This week, the Five Stripes acquired Brooks Lennon, a U.S. Youth International that spent time with Liverpool’s U23 team as a teenager. More recently, Lennon played with the Real Salt Lake first team for the last three seasons, making 86 appearances out of a possible 102.

Lennon can play multiple positions along the right side of the pitch. He began his playing career as a winger, but RSL head coach Mike Petke switched Lennon to right-back ahead of the 2018 season. Because of his capabilities in both defense and in attack, Lennon makes for a solid option at right wing-back in addition to right-winger and right-back.
