Yankees place Aaron Judge on 10-day IL with toe injury

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a bruise and a strain of a ligament in his right big toe, the team announced after Tuesday night's loss to the Chicago White Sox.

Judge injured the toe after running into the right-field gate at Dodger Stadium on Saturday while turning in a phenomenal over-the-shoulder catch. He has sat out the last two games.

Before Tuesday's game in New York, manager Aaron Boone said swelling in the toe has gone down but the team was still unsure if an IL stint would be needed.
