New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole has picked out a target date of June 1 for his return, the pitcher told Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Cole was placed on the 60-day injured list on Thursday due to elbow inflammation (per ESPN). The 33-year-old made just one Grapefruit League start in 2024, allowing three earned runs in only two innings pitched.

He played in a simulated game six days later before he was ultimately shut down to undergo further testing on his elbow.
