New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German wasn't likely to play in 2020 with 63 games remaining on a suspension under MLB's domestic violence policy.
Now it appears German may not be returning to the game at all, announcing in a cryptic Instagram post Friday that he has "left baseball":
Bryan HochDomingo German needed to sit out 63 more games, which wasn't possible in a 60-game regular season. MLB has said that he would have been permitted to be activated for the 2020 playoffs, since he already missed the '19 postseason.
