Yankees' DJ LeMahieu's Foot Injury Diagnosed as 'Pretty Significant' Bone Bruise

The New York Yankees may have to start the 2024 MLB season without a key bat in the lineup.

Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reported that infielder D.J. LeMahieu had suffered "a pretty significant bone bruise" on his right foot and that manager Aaron Boone is not sure if he will be ready for Opening Day.

LeMahieu injured the foot after fouling a ball into it during the Yankees spring training game against the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday. His X-rays came back negative, which led to the diagnosis of a bone bruise.
