New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Juan Soto is day-to-day after hurting his leg while making a sliding catch into the wall in foul territory against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN).
Boone also said that he isn't "overly concerned" that the injury will follow Soto into the postseason.
Soto was initially in the lineup for the Yankees' series opener against the Oakland Athletics on Friday but was scratched due to soreness and swelling in his knee. His X-rays were negative and he will not need additional testing, according to Boone.
