Almost halfway through Spring Training, and former World Series MVP David Freese still can’t find a job.
October of 2011 belonged to former St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese. During the Cardinals’ playoff run, Freese hit .342 with five home runs and 21 RBIs en route to winning the NLCS and World Series MVPs. Freese’s terror included two historic hits in Game 6 of the World Series: the first extended the game to extra innings and the latter was a walk-off home run that ended the game.
This one October was not going to define David Freese, but instead would serve as a catapult into future seasons and would allow him to establish himself as one of the best third basemen in the league.
