Is Kevin Kiermaier the best defensive outfielder this century?
For Kevin Kiermaier, 2015 was a chance to prove himself to the Tampa Bay Rays and lock down a starting spot in centerfield. Little did we know, Kiermaier would take the opportunity and run with it, winning the Gold Glove in the American League and establishing himself as the best defensive centerfielder in baseball.
Back in 2011, while playing for Class A Bowling Green, Kiermaier was given the nickname “The Outlaw.” According to the Tampa Bay Times, he was doing whatever it took to stick in centerfield, making diving catching and converting outfield assists left and right.
