New York Mets pitcher Steven Matz is dealing with a bone spur in his left elbow that could cause him to miss at least one start, but he could also be at risk of missing most of the summer.

According to Mike Puma of the New York Daily News, Matz and team officials will meet Tuesday to discuss if surgery is necessary. Matz underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed no structural damage to his elbow.

Surgery would likely force Matz to be out until late August, per Puma.
