Red Sox Rumors: Chris Sale Avoids Tommy John Surgery After Exam on Elbow Injury

Sale was placed on the injured list Saturday due to elbow inflammation after receiving an MRI from the team that couldn't determine damage to his elbow. He met with Dr. James Andrews Monday to receive a second opinion and the expert decided against the season-ending surgery.
