Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz hit the 476th home run of his career during Sunday's 13-2 rout of the Kansas City Royals, moving past Stan Musial and Willie Stargell (475) into sole possession of 29th place on the all-time home runs list, per MLB Milestones.
The milestone homer was a no-doubt solo shot to right field off of Royals pitcher Chris Young to lead off the top of the fourth inning, giving the Red Sox a 2-0 lead.
Officials measured the blast at 456 feet, and Ortiz later added an RBI single in the sixth inning, extending Boston's lead to 10-0.
