It looks like New York Yankees slugger Juan Soto may have avoided the worst with his forearm injury.
The outfielder had an MRI at noon to determine the extent of his forearm discomfort that knocked him out of the Yankees game against the Minnesota Twins Thursday. Jon Heyman of The New York Post reported that the initial prognosis is "inflammation" and that his absence shouldn't be long-term.
Despite the positive prognosis, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reported that Soto was not in the Yankees lineup for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
