MLB places Dodgers' Urias on leave after arrest

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias on Tuesday was placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball after he was arrested Monday night on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the arrest stemmed from an incident between Urias, 22, and a woman in the parking lot of the Beverly Center, a shopping area, at 7:30 p.m. PT.

Urias spent the night in jail and was released at 1:30 a.m. PT Tuesday after posting $20,000 bail.

MLB said it was conducting an investigation into the matter, and Urias could be on administrative leave for up to seven days.
