TORONTO -- The Seattle Mariners, on the heels of a strenuous 15-inning winner-take-all thriller Friday night, returned to the American League Championship Series for the first time in 24 years Sunday, toppling the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in Game 1 behind Bryce Miller's six-inning gem on short rest, Cal Raleigh's game-tying home run and more timely hitting from ALDS Game 5 hero Jorge Polanco.
"We've talked about just how resilient these guys are," Mariners manager Dan Wilson said. "And tonight was one of those instances again.
