A handful of times over the past few weeks, Max Scherzer has arrived upon the scene during a heroic Washington Nationals player’s post-game interview with a bottle of chocolate syrup in hand, with which he douses his teammate in an act of sticky-sweet celebration.
The pitcher recently explained his reasoning behind using chocolate syrup, given the bevy of other available options that are utilized by other teams: a chilly dousing with Gatorade, a shaving cream pie to face … what have you.
