Houston Astros’ shortstop Jed Lowrie can’t catch a break

Houston Astros’ shortstop Jed Lowrie can’t catch a break. The 31-year-old shortstop plays above average defense and can be deadly on offense, however, he has had a career completely mired by injuries.

Lowrie was called up to the majors back in 2008 by the Boston Red Sox and compiled a .258 batting average with 25 doubles and 46 runs batted in, while playing in 81 games. Injuries destroyed Lowrie’s Red Sox career, and after four seasons with Boston, he was traded to the Astros along with pitcher Kyle Weiland for reliever Mark Melancon.
