Carlos Martinez Placed on Cardinals 10-Day Disabled List with Oblique Injury

For the second time this season, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez is banged up and will miss time.

Per MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch, the 26-year-old was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with a strained right oblique.

The move comes after Martinez was knocked around in his last start against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday with six runs allowed (five earned) in five innings.

Martinez previously landed on the 10-day disabled list May 10 with a right lat strain after starting the season in stellar fashion. Over his first eight appearances, the Cardinals' opening-day starter went 3-2 with a 1.
