Yikes — Missouri overwhelmed in one-sided loss at LSU

Missouri was overwhelmed in a 42-7 loss Saturday at LSU. Mizzou trailed 35-0 before scoring its first points late in the fourth quarter.

Here are some takeaways from the Tigers’ loss in Baton Rouge.

The defense was completely overmatched by LSU’s running game

LSU rushed for 263 yards and three touchdowns in the first half to jump out to a 21-0 halftime lead. Things never really changed from there. LSU, which fired coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron after its loss at Auburn last week at least in part because of consistent offensive deficiencies, had its way with the Missouri defense.
