West Virginia throttles Mizzou in Big 12/SEC mismatch

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — It was a big week for stools in college basketball after Kansas player Silvio De Sousa wildly wielded one over his head on Tuesday, looking for someone to clobber in his team’s brawl with Kansas State.

But the game’s most famous piece of courtside furniture still resides at West Virginia: Bob Huggins’ stool. Rather than stalk the sideline like most of his peers, the 66-year-old soon-to-be Hall of Famer prefers to rest his sore hips on the four-legged wooden stool that travels everywhere the Mountaineers play and has earned a cult following. Before Saturday’s tipoff against Missouri, fans found their way to the court at WVU Coliseum to get photos taken with the empty seat.
