COLUMBIA, Mo. • Last October, we told you about the genesis of Bud Sasser’s name.
During her pregnancy, Jackie Sasser had two sonograms that indicated she was about to have a third daughter. The first two she named Brandi and Tequila. Jackie and Larry Sasser decided they’d stay with the adult beverage theme and name the baby girl Champagne.
There was one problem. She turned out to be a he.
“When the doctor said, ‘It’s a boy!’ I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, I don’t have a name for him,’” Jackie Sasser said.
Larry had a natural suggestion.
