COLUMBIA, MO. • It’s NBA Draft day, and for the second year in a row, the words “Missouri Tigers” won’t be spoken during the draft broadcast. (Sorry, Rosburg.) So, with the NBA in mind, we thought today would as good as any to share a story from Mizzou’s past.
Ten years ago this fall a skinny freshman guard stepped onto Norm Stewart Court at Mizzou Arena for the fifth game of his college career. He struggled against the Tigers, who were playing their fifth game under new coach Mike Anderson. The freshman was among the nation’s top scoring players when the game tipped off.
