Today we’re talking about something I had not paid attention to previously - rules changes for college football in the upcoming 2025 season.
A check of the interwebs shows that a handful of approved changes by the NCAA will be in effect this fall.
The highest profile change addresses the newer “art” of faking injuries that Ole Miss has gotten so adept at in recent years, among other changes. Specifically, a timeout will be charged if a player presents as injured after the ball is spotted. Other issues related to timeouts in overtime, replay review procedures and other various implementations should help improve things.
