Texas back denies commitment reports

UPDATED, 9:50 p.m.

COLUMBIA, Mo. • A few hours after news broke that he had committed to Missouri, running back Darius Anderson told the Post-Dispatch otherwise. Asked to confirm reports that he committed to Mizzou, Anderson answered with a two-word message: “No, sir.”

It remains unclear if Anderson plans to eventually commit to the Tigers. He told the Post-Dispatch he'll most likely commit to a school "after the season."

His father told PowerMizzou.com earlier in the day that he had indeed committed to Mizzou. MU ignited the reports Tuesday when director of recruiting Nick Otterbacher posted the following on Twitter, "Welcome to the #MizFam Richmond, TX About to be #MizzouMade," which is Mizzou tweet code that the team had received a verbal commitment from a Richmond, Texas player.
